How to Be a GREAT Equations Player – Part I

Applicable to On-Sets as well

  1. Play AGGRESSIVELY.
  • Make a Bonus move on every turn, including setting the Goal, until only a few cubes remain and you can’t make any more Bonus moves. (You can’t do this when you’re leading but aggressive play will help you get the lead in the first place.)
  • Time opponents’ every turn. Especially time them when they are writing or checking Solutions.
  • Never play to Permitted, otherwise known as the WIMP AREA! Exception: playing an 8 or 9 to Permitted with base eight.
  • Use your complete two minutes to check opponents’ Solutions thoroughly. Work with the third player when checking a Solution.
