Rod Beard was an Academic Games Hall of Fame player at Bates Academy and Renaissance High School in Detroit from 1985-1991. He won ten individual national titles and an Outstanding Senior award.
Rod began coaching academic games while attending the University of Michigan. He is an Assistant Executive Director of the Michigan League of Academic Games (MLAG). Rod is an online sports contributor for The Detroit News and has hosted a Friday night prep football show on local TV.
