Three county-wide tournaments each year
Two-day regional tournament once a year

Our league meets once per month at the College Square Elementary School in Beaver. Our meetings focus on upcoming tournaments, training sessions for new instructors, and various enrichment activities the league would like to pursue.

Other The Beaver County Academic Games League is comprised of school districts throughout Beaver County Pennsylvania. They are the Beaver Area School District, Blackhawk School District, Center Area School District, Freedom Area School District, Aliquippa School District, Hopewell School District, Midland School District, South Side School District, Big Beaver Falls School District, New Brighton School District, Ambridge School District, Western Beaver County School District, Rochester School District, and Riverside School District. Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School recently joined the league.

Format

Competitions are offered to students from 27 school districts and private schools within Midwestern Intermediate Unit 4 (Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties). Several school districts from neighboring counties also participate in MIU4 competitions. All teams from western Pennsylvania compete at Tri-Bowl, the state tournament.

Equations: One teacher training day during the school year
Two-day training offered to teachers during the summer
Two competition days at Slippery Rock University of PA: 3-6, 7-12
On-Sets: One teacher training day during school year
One competition day at SRU: 5-12
Propaganda: Two competition days at SRU: 3-6, 7-12
LinguiSHTIK: One teacher training day during school year
Two-day training offered to teachers during the summer
Two competition days at SRU: 3-6, 7-12
Presidents: Two competition days at SRU: 5-8, 9-12
THEME / CURRENT EVENTS: One competition day at SRU: 5-12
