Academic Games community,
For the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it very difficult for us to do things normally. It’s been a tough year for all of us in schools and in our daily lives.
That extends to Academic Games and just trying to do the activity that we enjoy so much. For most of us, this year has meant change and adjusting, including adapting to new learning models, with limited or no in-person learning with many people in our communities.
With that consideration, along with abundant caution for everyone in our community, AGLOA has decided not to have an in-person national tournament for 2021. Attached, you will find an official announcement with more details.
Of course, we are disappointed that we will not be able to gather this year in person, but we are working on several virtual activities to keep everyone engaged, including an online event in April during the time that we would have had the national tournament.
We are all disappointed but as the situation improves, we hope that we can go back to doing things normally, including having in-person tournaments again. We still plan to acknowledge our Outstanding Seniors and engage with students in the coming months, so please look out for additional announcements.
Please read the official announcement regarding the 2021 AGLOA National Tournament here.
Thank you,
Rod Beard
