Preparing for Nationals

Players must review all the games they will play at Nationals before competition. As many pre-Nationals practices should be scheduled as time and students’ schedules permit. Each practice should be devoted to just one game. Each league plays the games in a certain order. Obviously, students remember the most recent game the best. So Nationals preparation should start with the games that were played earlier in the year at local competition. Depending on the time gap between the last local competition and Nationals, practice in the last game played in the league could wait until a week before Nationals or even at the tournament site, since it should be fresh in players’ minds.
