Winning Shakes When You Aren't the Goal-Setter

In Equations, have players practice trying to win shakes and make good Solutions when one opponent sets the Goal in every shake (maybe three consecutive Goals).

This helps players get better at writing Solutions and not focusing on their own Goals. Most players should have an advantage when they set the Goal. The hard part in most tough matches is winning a shake when an opponent sets the Goal.

For the other player, this also puts the emphasis on setting good Goals and winning those shakes (as should happen most of the time when you are setting the Goal).
