Improvement in anything comes from practice and participation. Players who show up consistently get better, and those who don’t attend practices don’t get better. A good student who does not show up for practice is only holding him or her self back.
Sometimes veteran players think that they know all they need to know to compete and don’t bother to come to practice or get involved with other activities that conflict with Academic Games practices. All players need to realize that the students who continue to practice year-round are the ones who win awards at local competitions and Nationals.
