With the opening of school, it is time to take steps to invite back returning players and recruit newcomers. Here are some ways this can be done.
- Shortly before school begins, send a letter to selected students inviting them to play Academic Games. The recipients could be selected from returning students (perhaps those recommended by their teachers), students in a certain class (such as an Honors Math class), or incoming students who have participated in Academic Games at another school or been involved in other “intellectual” activities like quiz bowl or math club.
- Shortly after school begins, speak to your own classes about Academic Games or have a veteran player address your classes.
- Ask other teachers to let you or a player speak to their classes about Academic Games.
